TechCrunch - ThankfulFor: Share Your Gratitude...
by Jason Kincaid on September 21, 2009
Meet ThankfulFor, a new micromessaging site that is a “personal gratitude journal” which invites people to share the things they’re most thankful for in the form of 140 character long messages. It may sound like a strange idea, but apparently the practice of sharing your gratitude really can help improve your outlook on life (it’s a sort of reminder...

zenhabits:
Creating something new, something that people are looking for and will find useful, beautiful, inspiring … this is something that can fill your life with purpose, with joy, with passion. You don’t need to find motivation to write or create if you’re this excited. Create something new, and the world wins. And so do you.

TechCrunch50 - Social Media Streams Session
Threadsy - “pull yourself together”. It’s a unified inbox of all your social networks and communications. There’s a lot going on here but pretty powerful stuff. It not only centralizes all of your communications, but builds complete profile pages about all the people in your network, offering you easy access to all their homes on the web. Scoble wanted to try it right...

TC50 - Local & Classifieds Marketplaces
redbeacon -helps local services connect with customers allowing them to select and make appointments online, order services, etc. They put the power into the consumers hands because services compete for business. They had a fun fake demo delivering 500 cupcakes to attendees. Marc Andreesen pointed out the chicken/egg issue - tough to get all the service providers involved before you have an...

TC50 - New Advertising & Monetization Platforms
Longer presentations, tougher judges, fewer graphics, more charts… This panel needed Yossi Vardi in a big way. But money is important so we still paid attention.

TC 50 - The New Frontier Session
iTwin - the cable-less cable providing plug and play remote file access, coming in 2010. Looking for funding for mass production. It’s potentially for applications as well and could replace portable storage units. Just plug one end of the twin into one computer, use the other half with another computer to have access from either. Judges had mixed reviews.
